Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to CopyXD. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CopyXD browser extension (the "Service"). By installing, accessing, or using CopyXD, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not install or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

CopyXD is a browser extension that lets you copy several pieces of text in a row and then paste them back out, one at a time, in a predictable order, even across different tabs. Instead of copying and pasting one value at a time, you can copy everything first and then keep pressing Ctrl+V to paste each item in turn.

3. Permissions Required

To work properly, CopyXD requests three browser permissions. Each is used only for the purpose described below:

  • storage: Allows CopyXD to save your queue and your settings (such as FIFO or LIFO order and overlay visibility) in your browser's local storage, so they stay available across tabs and browser sessions.
  • clipboardRead: Allows CopyXD to read the text you copy, so that it can add each copied item to your queue.
  • clipboardWrite: Allows CopyXD to write the next queued item to your clipboard, so that it is pasted when you press Ctrl+V.

If you do not agree to grant these permissions, CopyXD will not be able to function, and you should uninstall it.

4. Privacy and Data Handling

We designed CopyXD to keep your data on your own device:

  • All data used by CopyXD, including the text you copy and your settings, is stored locally in your browser's local storage on your computer.
  • CopyXD does not send your clipboard data or any other data to our servers or to any third party.
  • All processing happens locally in your browser.
  • We do not track your activity, and we do not collect analytics about how you use the extension.

Because CopyXD handles whatever text you copy, please be mindful of what you copy while it is active. Anything you copy may be held in the local queue until it is pasted or cleared, and data in browser local storage is not separately encrypted by CopyXD. You are responsible for the security of your own device, browser, and browser profile.

5. Eligibility and Acceptable Use

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law to use the Service. You agree to use CopyXD in compliance with these Terms, applicable laws, and the terms of the websites and services you use it with.

When using CopyXD, you agree that you will not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by applicable law.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service, or use it to disrupt other websites or services.

6. Your Content

You retain all rights to the text and other content you copy, queue, and paste using CopyXD ("Your Content"). CopyXD does not claim ownership of Your Content and does not have access to it, because it stays on your device. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for making sure you have the right to copy and paste it.

7. Intellectual Property

The CopyXD name, logo, extension code, user interface, and related materials are the property of CopyXD and its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use CopyXD's trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the CopyXD extension for your personal or business use.

8. Third-Party Services

CopyXD works alongside your web browser and the websites and web applications you visit, such as Google Sheets or note-taking apps. CopyXD is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or any other third-party website or service. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Some websites and web applications may restrict or change how copy and paste works, which may affect how CopyXD behaves on those sites.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We work to make CopyXD safe, private, and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully compatible with every website, web application, or browser version, as these may change at any time in ways outside of our control. In particular, we do not guarantee that every copied item will be queued or pasted correctly on every page, so please double-check important data after pasting.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CopyXD and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Because CopyXD is provided free of charge, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed USD $0.

11. Termination

You may stop using CopyXD at any time by uninstalling the extension from your browser. Uninstalling the extension will remove the data CopyXD has stored locally in your browser.

We may suspend or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time, including if you violate these Terms. Where practical, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice of any planned discontinuation.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of CopyXD after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
