Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
CopyXD is a browser extension that lets you copy several pieces of text in a row and paste them back one at a time, in order. This policy explains what data CopyXD handles and how it is protected.
The short version
- CopyXD does not collect, transmit, or sell your data.
- Everything stays on your computer, in your browser.
- We do not track your activity.
What data CopyXD handles
Clipboard content. When you copy text, CopyXD saves it to a queue in your browser's local storage, on your own device, so you can paste it later. This is the core function of the extension, and this data never leaves your computer.
Your settings. CopyXD also stores your preferences, such as queue order (FIFO or LIFO) and whether the overlay is shown or hidden. These are kept in your browser's local storage too, and are never sent anywhere.
Where your data is stored
All of this data is saved only in your browser's local extension storage on your own device. It is never sent to us, to any server, or to any third party.
All processing, including managing the queue and syncing it between your open tabs, happens locally in your browser.
What we do not do
- We do not track your browsing activity or the sites you visit.
- We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's function.
Permissions CopyXD requests
CopyXD asks for three permissions, each used only for the feature described:
- storage: saves your clipboard queue and settings in your browser's local storage so they persist and stay in sync across tabs.
- clipboardRead: lets CopyXD read text from your clipboard when you copy, so it can add that text to your queue.
- clipboardWrite: lets CopyXD place the next item from your queue onto your clipboard so Ctrl+V pastes it.
Data retention and your control
Your queue stays on your device until you clear it or remove the extension. You can:
- Clear the queue at any time from the CopyXD overlay.
- Delete all stored data by uninstalling the extension.
Please be mindful that anything you copy, including sensitive text such as passwords, is held in the queue until it is pasted or cleared. Clear the queue when you are done with sensitive content.
Children's privacy
CopyXD does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Any significant change will also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
